Course content
Classification of conventional pesticides, new active substances and the current state of development of new pesticide generations. New knowledge in the field of final formulation and application of pesticides. Groups of zoocides and the most important zoocidal active substances. Groups and most important fungicidal active substances. The main criteria for regulated chemical protection and the principles of the EU Directive introduce the practice of sustainable use of pesticides. Resistance to pesticides - types of resistance, mechanisms and causes of resistance, anti-resistant programs as a key element of directed chemical protection. Alternative products in current plant protection. Biorational products - pheromones, insect growth regulators, chemosterilants, inhibition of chitin formation, activators of induced resistance and their use in plant protection. Biological product based on macro-organisms (parasitoids and predators). Biological products based on microorganisms - entomopathogenic viruses, entomopathogenic bacteria, entomopathogenic fungi and entomoparasitic nematodes respectively mycoparasitic and antagonistic fungi and bacteria. Natural pesticides and pesticide-based approaches to natural substances. Methods of application and mechanical means for application of pesticides. Negative consequences of pesticide application and safety rules related to the distribution and application of pesticides.
