Course content
Plant production, soil management, crops structure. Agriculture in Czech Republic (production areas and LFA). Agriculture restructuring in EU and CR. Formation and distribution of dry matter phytomass. Biological and economic yield and forming of the yield. Cereals. Growth and development yield formation, atributes of yield, their formation and reduction, compensation, autoregulation. Requirements cereals for surroundings. Principles of agrotechnological growing of cereals (rotation of crops, selection of species and cultivars, soil preparation and sowing, cereals nutrition and fertilization, treatment during vegetation, agrobiological control, quality of cereals. Specialities of cereals (wheat, barley, triticale, rye, oat, corn and cereals second-class), pseudocereals, non-food usage of cereals. Grain legumes. Importance and usage, growth and development, yield fornation, agronomical practices. Agrobiological control, specialities of legumes (peas, broad bean, soya, wax-pod, chickpea, lentil, lupinus).

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to obtain general knowledges of growing and usage of cereals and leegumes with forcefully on economic efectiveness.
Students are able to orientate in the field of cereals and legumes production.
Prerequisites
Standard knowledge of biology and plant physiology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

The condition of granting the credit is recognition of the plants in green and dry condition (genus + species, scientific name) and active participation in exercises).
