Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to expand knowledge about the relationship between plants and the environment, especially with a focus on interactions at the plant - plant level (crop - weed). To get acquainted with the influence of biotic and abiotic factors on plants, the course of stress and the formation of defensive reactions. Explain the effect of competition on the plant, its duration and effect in various agricultural crops (wheat, barley, corn, rape, flax, soybeans, sorghum, alfalfa, etc.). To inform about the production of secondary metabolites and their function in the formation of plant relationships and then about their intake and physiological effect of alelopathics in plants. Explain the importance and possibilities of using knowledge about interactions between plants in practice (influence on the yield of subsequent crops, use in weed control in organic farming, breeding, etc.). Introduction to methods of competition evaluation and determination of aleopathic effects of plants.
The student is able to independently orient in the given issue and is able to use the acquired knowledge in their scientific activities or other practice.
Prerequisites
Completion of a university master's or engineering study of science resp. agricultural focus

Assessment methods and criteria
