Course content
Diseases of crops (cereals, legumes, root crops, oilseeds, vegetables, fruit trees and grapevine), focusing on the origin of the disease, symptoms and course of the disease, sources of inoculum and ways of surviving pathogens in the environment, transmission and propagation of pathogens, biotic and abiotic factors on the occurrence and development of diseases, diagnosis crop diseases, methods of integrated pest management against infectious diseases (agrotechnical, physical, mechanical, chemical, biological).

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Preparation for credit - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 20 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the most important diseases of basic groups of cultivated agricultural crops.
Students are able to orientate in the field of plant pathogens causes the crop diseases.
Prerequisites
Standard knowledge of biology and microbiology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Active participation in exercises, protocols from laboratory exercises, understanding the curriculum defined for the exam.
