Course content
|
Plant production, management on arable soil, field crop structure. Conditions for plant production in the Czech Republic (production areas and LFA). Effects of agriculture restructuralization in EU and in the Czech Republic on plant production. Production ecology, biological yield, formation and distribution of phytomass dry matter, economic yield. Conception and importance of cultivar (genotype) in plant production. Production of new varieties - the breeding process. Fundamentals of cultivar breeding in the case of individual field crops (cereals, maize, rape, peas, potatoes, sugar beet, clover, fodder grasses). The fundamental conceptions of seed producion (categories of seeds, biological and seed production value, seed treatment and finalization, control system). Seed production systems for the main field crops.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to obtain general knowledges about plant production in the Czech Republic - crop structure, crop management conditions and systems, foundation of plant breeding and seed production.
Students are able to orientate in the field of plant production of the Czech republic and in conditions for its operation.

|
Standard knowledge of plant biology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Combined exam
Active participation in exercises, working out of semestral thesis, understanding the curriculum defined for the exam.
