Course content
Survey Introduktion Consumerism Cross-section topics and anti consumersist education Education about citizenschip as a creative workshop of thinking for 21st century (Using critical thinking as a tool against consumerism) Consumerism in food consumption some economic views and health risks McSociety: fast food chains as a symbol and model of consumer society The world of advertising and man as a consumer Children, advertising and consumer culture The development of society and its influence on man´s life in the perspective of Czech natural scienticts - philosophers Colloquim - closing

Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to present to students and teachers topical issues of contemporary consumer society (consumerism) , and their reflexion in the teaching of Fundamentals of social sciencies and Civic Education in fundamental and secondary schools.
The ability to process and present the methodical preparing of civic education lessons.
Prerequisites
Theoretical and practical mastering of the minimum of pedagogical knowledge for social sciences and civic education.

Assessment methods and criteria
Colloquium

Active participation in seminars, a presentation of a teaching lesson.
