Course content
1. Ethical principles and their formation 2. Values and value systems 3.-4. The spiritual dimension of society, the significance of art in human life 5.-6. The identity of man, its formation, identity crisis 7.-8. Consumerism and postmodern society 9.-10. Media and contemporary society, their influence on the informedness, entertainment and education 11.-12. New media, cyberculture 13. The influence of the media on the socialization of an individual 14. The ethical and legal aspects of cyberbullying in contemporary society

Learning outcomes
The subject has an interdisciplinary character and serves as an introduction into the problems connected with the relation of man and society from the philosophical and sociological point of view. It focuses on the historical overview of the types of human society and on the relation of man to the world as a whole.
The student is acquainted with elementary terminology and is able to employ this knowledge in the analysis of texts related to the subject. He/She is also able to relate various philosophical and sociological theories to the problems of contemporary world.

Knowledge of the content of lectures, knowledge of basic literature.
