Course content
1. What is philosophy, 2. Philosophical questions, 3. division of philosophy, 4. Philosophy and world opinion, 5. Myth, philosophy, religion, 6. Logic and theory of science, 7. Basic categories of logic, 8. Philosophy of being, 9. Metaphysics and ontology, 10. Method and methodology, 11. Doxism and epistémé, 12. Gnoseology, 13. Truth within history of philosophy.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
Philosophy conception and its relation to other sciences. Philosophy as a system. Origin of philosophy, beginning of philosophical thinking, myth and logos. Overview of philosophy of history from Platon to Heidegger. View of new ontology of 20th century. Philosophical problem of understanding - selected capters. Questions of human being in history of philosophical thinking and modern philosophy of 19th and 20th century. Specifics of philosophy of 20th century (modern and postmodern trends). Ethic dimension of philosophy and values of civil society. Overview of philosophical thinking in Bohemia.
Student is well informed about principal methods and categories of philosophical thinking, critically comments on philosophical texts from history of philosophy.
