Diploma thesis - structure and methodology

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminar is to follow on from Diploma Seminar 1 and to complete the diploma thesis. The Dean's Measure No. 300/2022 and the Methodological aid for writing final theses (https://stud.tf.jcu.cz/metodickapomucka) give the basic requirements for writing and submitting the thesis. The seminar consists of consultations between the student and the supervisor or with other teachers (consultants) according to the student's needs and the teachers' possibilities. If necessary, the consultant can be appointed by the guarantor of the study program. The student is obliged to follow the schedule set by the supervisor and his instructions. If he does not respect the supervisor's schedule or basic instructions, the supervisor may refuse to give him credit. The supervisor gives credit when the work is complete and ready for submission. Credit is awarded for completed independent work on the topic. However, it is not an assessment of the quality of this work. This means it is not necessarily a guarantee that the work will be successfully defended. By awarding credit, the supervisor says that the student has worked independently and sufficiently under his supervision and that the work is finished and can be handed in. The student is obliged to submit the work to IS STAG no later than 1 month after receiving credit for this seminar.
