Learning outcomes
The course aims to introduce students to dogmatic theology, specifically theological anthropology, creation theology and eschatology. Students will gain an insight into the basic categories of the treatises, their dogmatic-historical development, relevant scientific expressions establishing the doctrinal boundaries of the Christian faith, and they will be provided with the content of the treatises in terms of theological systematics. A characteristic feature of this course is contextuality. The knowledge of individual treatises refers to each other in terms of content and their distinction thus remains primarily a methodological matter. The subject is always thematic with an overlap to how dogmatic theology as a whole is constructed.
- understanding of the issue in its original context, including the correct use of terms - understanding the internal logic of the system - acquisition of substantial factual knowledge from the discussed treatises - ability to reflect the relevant theological topic critically and rationally - ability to recognise the relative importance of individual partial knowledge, place it in appropriate contexts using synthesising thinking
Prerequisites
- the course presupposes initial knowledge and skills to the extent determined within the compulsory theological subjects in previous semesters (fundamental theology, dogmatic theology 1)
