Learning outcomes

The main aim of this course is to learn the basics of Old Hebrew grammar. The course is based on three biblical texts: 2Samuel 10-12; Jonah; Ruth. In the first semester, the students will learn the writing and pronunciation, the substantives, adjectives, pronomina and most common verbal forms like perfect and imperfect. From the hebrew syntax they will study the nominal clause.
After the first semester, the student will know the basic grammar of Ancient (Biblical) Hebrew and (s)he will be ready for starting the second semester of study.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written examination
The student will find all the material needed in the Moodle e-learning system. The requirements are: (1) Regular study, attendace at the lectures, and home works; (2) doing the tests in Moodle in due time. (3) final written test an the conclusion of the semester. The student must be successful at 75 %. 70 % is formed by the final written test, 30 % by the tests in Moodle.
