Course content
Theoretical part: in the form of teaching and self-study from study materials. Liturgy as symbolic action, forms of expression in liturgy. Principles for preparing worship services: structure of worship services, symbolic action, preparation of sermons Practical part: Preparation and realization of worship services.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
  • Class attendance - 12 hours per semester
  • Preparation for classes - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject Liturgical Exercises is to gain an experience through an active preparation and realization of liturgical services with symbolic elements.
Bring off to prepare and realize a liturgy of the word with a symbolic elements for various occasions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment

Prepare and conduct a selected worship service with symbolic actions with the help of other participants. Requires 80% attendance in classes, which are held in blocks of 4x3 hours/semester. Students will study the materials and prepare a worship service (independent work). Conduct the worship service with the help of other participants. After realization, submit a detailed text of the worship service, including a seven-minute sermon, in electronic form.
