Course content
Introduction to the history of canon law. General norms in canon law. Constitutional canon law and the structure of the Church. Comparison of the western and eastern canon law.

Learning outcomes
Canon law 1 - constitutional law introduces the student into history of canon law and the first and second book of the Code of Canon Law of 1983 and the paralel parts of the Eastern canon law.
Student will learn reading the code of canon law, the difference between the theological and canonical methods, will understand the difference between general canonical norms and constitutional norms. Also will learn the historical method in canon law.
