Course content
Students will familiarise with the rules of educational process concerning physical exercise; with its aims and contents; with pedagogical principles, methods, procedures and styles. The course focuses on the position and role of the teacher and the child in the educational process; on the rules of their communication; on the treatment of the subject matter. Attention will be also paid to practical skills related to the creation of a thematic unit in kindergarten; to planning activities and preparation of open-air school. To motor abilities, skills and habits. Implementation of the methodology of physical activities in the kindergarten practice: physical exercise and open-air games for pre-school children; preparatory athletic games for pre-school children; gymnastic games for pre-school children to train basic gymnastic skills. Basics of applied physical activities. Physical activities and movement games for preschool children with special needs. Lectures focusing on preschool didactics of PA for children with special needs 1. Healthy lifestyle. 2. Exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. 3. Physical education. 4. Kinetic learning. 5. Basics of applied physical activities I. 6. Basics of applied physical activities II. 7. Principles in physical education. 8. Methods in physical education. 9. Specifics of physical activities in preschool age. 10. Communication. 11. Motoric skills. 12. Physical abilities. 13. Physical skills. 14. Physical skills in water. Exercises focusing on preschool didactics of TV for children with special needs: 1. Dating games. 2. Exercises and small movement games for the development of gross motor skills. 3. Exercises and small movement games for the development of fine motor skills. 4. Exercises and small movement games for the development of locomotor movement skills. 5. Exercises and small movement games for the development of manipulation skills. 6. Psychomotor games I. 7. Psychomotor games II. 8. Games with non-traditional tools I. 9. Games with non-traditional tools I. 10.Games with fairy tales. 11.Orientation development games. 12.Games for the development of dexterity and coordination. 13.Games for the development of cooperation. 14.Outdoor games.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to apprehend the role of physical exercise in contemporary kindergarten education; to get acquainted with various approaches to and forms of physical exercise with regard to the child´s age and individual dispositions. It is based on Framework Educational Programme for pre-school education.
Ability to coordinate physical acrivites in contemporary kindergarten with respect to the child´s developmental and individual potential.

Movement skills.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student portfolio analysis, Seminar work

Active participation; preparation of one physical activity as part of a thematic unit. Written test of knowledge.
