Course content
Lectures: 1. Typology of investment, risk, return on investment 2. Security, basic types of securities, securities legislation in the Czech Republic, emissions and registration of securities. 3. Bills of exchange, Check 4. Bonds and types of bonds 5. Intrinsic value, risk and yield of the bond 6. Stocks 7. Intrinsic value, risk and rate of return of the stock 8. Other securities of share law 9. Modern portfolio theory 10. Financial derivatives - forwards 11. Financial derivatives - futures 12. Financial derivatives - options 13. Financial derivatives - swaps Seminars: 1. Basic classification of securities and pricing of securities 2. Financial arithmetic, simple and compound interest , future and current value 3. Securities of money market, yield basis and discount basis securities 4. Bonds - Bond pricing, bond yield measurement 5. Yield curve, yield curves types, spot and forward yield curve 6. Bond risks, Duration, convexity, immunization 7. Stock - intrinsic value, stock return 8. Risk and risks measurement 9. Portfolio analysis 10. Financial derivatives - forwards 11. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic types of securities and financial derivatives and their legislation in the Czech Republic. The course also pays attention to the valuation of selected investment instruments and the analysis of their return and risk.
Students are familiar with the legislation governing the securities in the Czech Republic, known typology of individual securities, their requirements, focusing on the rights and obligations which arise from securities. Students are able to calculate the risk and yield of various financial instruments and their intrinsic value.

Credit Requirements: 1. Enrollment in the e-lerning course KUF/CCP 2021 in Moodle within 4 weeks of the relevant semester including. 2. Active participation in exercises (consultations KS) 3. Elaboration of two credit tests (min. Required success rate 60%). Tests are written on-site during the 6th and 13th week. The 1st test contains topics from the 1st and 5th weeks of the respective semester and the 2nd test topics from the 6th to 12th weeks of the respective semester. Exam requirements: 1. Written test to verifying knowledge within the range defined by this syllabus (minimum required 60%) 2. Oral exam verifying knowledge within the range defined by this syllabus Examination evaluation: Excellent (95-100%) Excellent minus (90-94%) Very good (80-89%) Very good minus (75-80%) Good (60-74%) Not satisfied (0 - 59%) Assessment weights: 40% credit test, 30% exam test, 30% oral exam.
