Course content
Lecture topics: 1. The financial market and the breakdown of financial market instruments 2. Investment instruments - stocks, equity indices 3. Investment instruments - forex, commodities, metals, futures 4. Securities Broker, Trading Account, and Trade Orders 5. The theory of efficient markets 6. Macroeconomic Fundamental Analysis 7. Sectoral and corporate fundamental analysis 8. Technical analysis - graphs, graphical and sirloin formations 9. Technical analysis - overlays 10. Technical analysis - indicators 11. Money management 12. MT4 Business Platforms and Student Broker 13. Creating a business strategy 14. Evaluating the business strategy

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to acquaint students with principles of trading on financial, capital and commodity markets. Students are able to apply selected methods of analyzing financial instruments to predict price development and to use selected trading platforms when executing transactions with financial instruments.
Students completing the course are able to use basic methods of technical, fundamental and psychological analysis and use specialized software products for securities trading. This knowledge allows them to better focus on issues of financial, capital and commodity markets.

Seminar work

1. Enrollment in the Moodle course (http://moodle.ef.jcu.cz) by the 4th week of the relevant semester including 2. Active participation in exercises 3.Preparation of the seminar work in which the student applies the knowledge acquired during this course. The seminar work is focused on developing its own business strategy and evaluating its success. In this work the student will acquire knowledge in the field of technical analysis, money management and other knowledge from trading
