Course content
Fields of research: 1) introduction to the study of art history, history, basic concepts, periodization, key methodological procedures, main personality and orientation in the relevant literature 2-3) Literature to art history of antiquity and the problems of assessing ancient art 4-5) and literature sources to the history of art of the middle ages and the evolution of views on medieval art 6-7) to art history and literature of the Renaissance and the development of the concept of development and the theory of art in Renaissance and Mannerism 8) changes in patterns of thinking about art and its development in the Baroque period 9) Literature to art history from the time of the enlightenment and the foundations of modern art history, art criticism and expertise 10) concept the concept of the history of art at the time 1. mid-19th century. century ? the basics of the main methods, the creation of heritage preservation and development of antique art from the viewpoint of contemporary art criticism 11) Composition of basic methods of art history, the establishment of the field, the development of criteria for the preservation of historical monuments, the main expert of methods and contemporary reflection of the art in 2 mid-19th century. century 12) changes in the field in the first half of the 20. century and contemporary reflection of modern art 13) development of methods of art history since the second world war to the present

Learning outcomes
Lectures provide the progress of the history of art along with metamorphoses of classification and interpretation of works of art, using examples of distinguished personalities of this subject. The aim is to lay down the development of methodology, which is illustrated using practical examples. The students will be able to use them in their practice of educating, though they shall not be professionals in the field of history of art.

The credit test examines the capability of basic orientation in historiography in the history of arts and of the crucial knowledge of methodical procedures of interpreting both old and contemporary art.
