Course content
Content of lectures: Content of practices: Field trips focused in observation and determination of selected groups of birds; sometimes connected by catching and ringing (as a regular goal: waterfowls, waders, owls, diurnal raptors, woodcock).

  • Field trip - 50 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course include demonstration of capturing methods of chosen species (Eurasian kestrel, Long-eared owl, Common Cuckoo, etc). The course include also one weekend-excursion to chosen locality (South Moravia, Ostravsko, Krkonoše Mts., etc). Other excursion is aimed on avifauna of Southern Bohemia.
Participants will obtain experiences in the field ornithology

There is no prerequisity for this course

Assessment methods and criteria
Interim evaluation

Participants will create a checklist of observed bird species.
