Learning outcomes
|
Basic course of zoology, mainly for students without intent to specialise on zoology. Targeted on students of the bachelor program Biological chemistry, and for student of experimental and biomedicine disciplines. The course gives overview of animal phyla, classes and orders; their body composition, organ systems, physiological functions, reproduction, role in environment, including food relationships, and by large extent of defence mechanisms including toxins.
Students know characteristics of animals, their anatomy and physiology. Students are able to recognize representatives of large taxa (phyla, classes). Students appreciate animals for their diverse abilities.
