Course content
1. Measurements, measuring instruments and tools for checking objects, SI units, 2. Methods of quality control in production. 3. Straightening and knocking out, pressing machines and forming procedures. 4. Cutting, cutting machines, new methods of cutting materials. 5. Manual and machine cutting, friction cutting tools. 6. Turning, machines and tools used, use of computer technology. 7 Milling, machines and tools, gear production. 8. Drilling and other machining methods. 9. Types and production of detachable joints - screws. 10. Types and manufacture of non-removable connections - riveting, soldering, pointing, gluing. 11. Flame and electric arc welding. 12. Procedures for marketing machinery. 13 Maintenance of machines, tools and equipment, 14. Basic safety regulations.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Demonstration
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
  • Preparation for classes - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 40 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 30 hours per semester
  • Field trip - 16 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the field of engineering technology and the basics of workshop and repair operations. At the same time, students will learn technical terminology within the course.
The student is able to apply the knowledge, received during the study, specified in the part: Content of the syllabus.

Oral examination, Written examination

Praxis with machines and tools according to lectures Requirements to get the credits: 1. Participation at seminars - two unauthorised absences accepted 2. Two credit tests - grade better than: failed 3. Lab exercises - hand over complete tasks Exam - written test with 10 questions, oral exam based on the result of the written test
