Course content
1. Concepts and diagnostic methods, diagnostic systems, 2. Diagnostics of internal combustion engines, 3. Internal combustion engine performance, 4. Diagnosis of the fuel system of diesel and petrol engines, 5. Combustion engine emissions, current global and regional status, developments, 6. Emission tests for type approval of vehicles (global and regional developments). 7. Tribodiagnostic methods, 8. Brake diagnostics, 9. Diagnostics of electronic systems, 10. Diagnostics of control units, actuators and sensors, electrical equipment, 11. Diagnostics of electrical systems of vehicles and machines, 12. Chassis geometry diagnostics, 13. Vehicle chassis diagnostics, 14. Economics of diagnostics

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the field of diagnostics and repair of road vehicles. At the same time, students will learn technical terminology within the course.
The student is able to apply the knowledge, received during the study, specified in the part: Content of the syllabus.

Presentation of diagnostics at VOŠ SPŠ automobilní a technická, SOŠ veterinární mechanizační a zahradnická a jazyková škola s právem státní jazykové zkoušky České Budějovice a Fastagri spol. s r. o. Boršov Requirements to get the credits: 1. Participation - max. 2 unauthorised absences, completion and presentation of seminar papers, average grade from a test: 3 and better 2. When one condition is not met, another seminar paper on a given topic must be worked out, when the absence is higher than 50% the credits will not be given Exam - written test with 10 questions from which 2 are counting exercises, oral exam based on the result of the written part.
