Course content
1.-2. Machinery primary sorting of waste; 3. containers and waste containers; 4. compression technology for municipal waste management; 5. handling municipal solid waste, 6. - 7. Machinery for processing of waste biomass in the implementation of landscape maintenance and communal areas; 8. - 9. machinery for processing wood waste from forestry activities; 10. machinery and mechanical equipment for the diminution of secondary raw materials; 11. arrangements for lump size material; 12. mechanization means for processing and sorting of construction waste; 13. - 14. equipment to complete the processing of agricultural waste products, including sorting, recycling, composting, disposal and handling of combustible fraction of waste.

  • Semestral paper - 30 hours per semester

  • Preparation for exam - 40 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 25 hours per semester
  • Field trip - 12 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The goal is to provide students with a comprehensive overview of machinery for waste treatment and handling of waste and allow them a comprehensive understanding of the linkages between the various technological processes and machinery design concepts for each working operation.
Students will use knowledge in practice for real time estimates and cost calculations in the design of technological lines for waste management and recycling.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

The prerequisite for successful completion of the course is 80% attendance, completion of a midterm and credit test, preparation of a seminar paper, and a combined exam.
