Course content
1. Processes and methods used in plant production for application of herbicides and pesticides. Herbicide and Pesticide application, characteristics of application methods, types of appliances and machinery used for Herbicide and Pesticide application. 2. Ground based, constructions, main constructional parts, pumping devices, ventilators. 3. Sprayer reservoirs, controlling elements. 4. Filtration, sprayer frames. 5. Methods of liquid spraying, construction of sprayers and sprayers functions. 6. Operating quality requirements of sprayers, calibration, adherence to defined dosage of sprayed liquid, set up and usage of tracked (alternate) rows. 7. Environmental protection, sprayed liquid outlet decrease, sprayers testing. 8. Blow and fog sprayers. Constructions, main constructional parts, usage. 9. Organic fertilizers application machinery, compost and manure spreaders. 10. Barnyard manure application machinery, characteristics, application fundamentals. 11. Sewage application machinery, characteristics, application fundamentals. 12. Fertilizer application machinery, construction of solid fertilizer spreaders. 13. Locally differenciated fertilization. 14. Methods of thermic prevention.

Learning outcomes
Objective of this subject is to explain fundamental principles of machinery used for application of herbicides and pesticides and for fertilization. Absolvents will gain fundamental knowledge and skills in maintenance, calibration and testing of machines.
The student is able to apply the knowledge, received during the study, specified in the part: Content of the syllabus.

Combined exam
