Course content
1. Potatoes, importance, sown process arrangement, soil cutters, planters. 2. and 3. The types of potato harvesting, potato harvesters, harvest lines. 4. Potato afterharvest treatment, afterharvest treatment lines. 5. Potato - storing, the types of storehouses, manipulation machinery. 6. Sugar beet and beet, importance, sown process arrangement, soil preparation. 7. Beet harvest, storing and treatment. 8. Flax and its importance, sown process arrangement, soil preparation, sowing. 9. Flax harvesters, dewing machines, afterharvesting treatment, main product application, secondary product application. 10. Hop and its importance, sown process arrangement. 11. Hop harvesters, postharvest formulation. 12 - 14. Vegetable seeding machines, vegetable planters, cultivation and harvest, afterharvest storing and the treatment methods.

Learning outcomes
The objective of this subject is to explain the principles and methods of root-crops, industrial crops and vegetable cultivation, harvest and postharvest formulation.
The student is able to apply the knowledge, received during the study, specified in the part: Content of the syllabus.
Prerequisites
Completion of subject Fundamentals of agricultural technology required.

Oral examination, Written examination

Requirements to get the credits: 1. Participation at seminars - two unauthorised absences accepted 2. Two credit tests - grade better than: failed 3. A seminar paper Exam - written test with 10 questions, oral exam based on the result of the written test
