Course content
1. Machines for excavating, terminology used for excavating machines, definition of dimensions and symbols, working equipment, excavation machinery deployment options when lifting rocks of the relevant class, predestination of land and earthwork processing machines 2. General description of hydraulic excavators, technical data, application for earthworks, performance; 3. Dozers - working equipment, dozer blade, performance calculation 4. Loaders, description, application, performance calculation, telescopic handlers for excavating - description, usage, construction, skid steer loaders; 5. Graders, working equipment, performance, utilization, universal earthmoving machines, work equipment use; 6. Haulers, technical and technological requirements, description, construction, use, scrapers, working equipment, performance, utilization, trucks, trailers, semi-trailers 7. Drilling machines - a description, distribution, conditioning machines, soil compaction, technical requirements, a description of the machine, usage, performance and volume basis, calculating the thickness of compaction; 8. Compactors, performance and compaction depth, trenchless technologies; 9. Mechanization for recycling of building materials; 10. Mechanization of mining activity and undesirable advance growth disposal, power chain saws, brush cutters, harvesters. 11. Mechanization for gathering wood, UKT, SLKT, forwarders, winches, lifts; 12. Mechanization for timber hauling, trucks, trailers, semi-trailers, pole trailers, platforms; 13. Machines for removing undesirable advance growth, shredders, performance, stump grinders, machines for grubbing stumps, chippers, performance; 14. Technological line for wood processing, storage handling of wood, hydraulic cranes.

Learning outcomes
The target of learning is suplying informations about melioration and ground works and understanding among others technological process and construction machinery conceptual structure for individual work stages. School-leavers be gaining cnowledges about real capacity of ground, melioration machinery and mechanization for undesirable brush control on melioration and build areas. Working knowledges they will be practically making for timing and costing estimates at ground work, ground preventive throughout the country, ecological compliance project, maintenance of protective objects, maintenance of industry structures, maintenace of hydroengineering structures and pastime activities citizens utilization.
The student is able to apply the knowledge, received during the study, specified in the part: Content of the syllabus.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Work out a topic regarding forestry and present it at a seminar (time range 10 - 15 minutes), passing a test with at least 60% score.
