Course content
1. Basic concepts of mechanics. 2. - 3. Introduction to the kinematics of the center of mass. 4. - 5. Introduction to the dynamics of the center of mass. 6. The center of gravity of solid objects, the moment of inertia, Steiner sentence. 7. The resistive and frictional forces. 8. - 10. Statics of solid objects, planar systems of forces. 11. Basics of elasticity and strength. 12. - 13. Selected technical applications.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
  • Preparation for classes - 15 hours per semester
  • Field trip - 16 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 25 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 40 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide students with training in the field of mechanics with respect to the technical aspects of the issue. Discussed themes are chosen so as to allow students to use the acquired knowledge in their specialised disciplines of curriculum.
The student is able to apply the knowledge, received during the study, specified in the part: Content of the syllabus.

Knowledge of mathematics, physics and mechanics at secondary level

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Test

The student will receive credits (credit test) and will have to pass the exam.
