Course content
1. Foundry basics, construction materials for castings 2. Foundry properties of materials for casting structures. Selected applications for the production of agricultural machinery components. 3. Models, moulds and their production, moulding materials and lines. Applications in the manufacture of agricultural machinery. 4. Casting, modern casting technology, cleaning of castings, use of castings. Applications in the manufacture of agricultural machinery. 5. Marking of materials, physical metallurgical basics of metal forming, basic forming technology - examples. from the field of agricultural technology 6. Volume forming, rolling, forging and extrusion 7. Plate forming, shearing, bending and drawing 8. Use of parts produced by forming in the construction of agricultural machinery. Material cutting 9. Basic principles of conventional machining, cutting forces, cutting speed 10. Non-conventional machining methods used in the manufacture of agricultural machinery 11. Joining, riveting, welding, weldability, welding methods 12. Soldering and bonding of metals, additive materials 13. Metal surface treatment methods 14. Division of plastics processing technologies, injection moulding, extrusion, moulding, pressing

Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge and new skills in the field of basic technological processes in mechanical engineering, namely casting, forming, machining and joining of technical materials.
The student is able to apply the knowledge acquired during the study defined in the Content section of this syllabus.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of mathematics, physics and mechanics at secondary school level

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Active participation in seminars, submission of seminar work, knowledge of the lecture material.
