Course content
Lectures and seminars: Gerontology as science discipline, basic dividing. Historical evolution, age theory. Basic age demography, definition of age and fade away Epidemiological minimum. Geriatrics giants - problems of five I (instability, urinary incontinence, immobility, intellective disorder, iatrogenic) Dizziness and unstability, falls, accident prevention in age. Sustenance problems in the elderly. Basic cardio - vascular disorders. Basic disorder of a respiratory tract, prevention. Basic disorder of digestive tract, prevention. Neurological and urological problems in geriatric. Basic disorder of kinetic apparatus, prevention. Problems of mental disorder related to age. Care system about seniors in the Czech Republic - law 108/2006 Sb. Revision.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
Lectures are focused on basic theories about getting old and caducity in biological-sociological context. special stress is laid on prevention in the area of gerontology. Lectures are also focused on health problems of seniors and effects and social impacts of these diseases.
Students understand problematic of ageing in health social context. Student will be able to explain health and socio problems, which are determined for ageing.
