Course content
1. Definition of subject. Psychology of musical perception. Models of perception. 2. Verbalisation and visualisation of music. Synopsis. Eidetism. 3. Psychological basis of musical abilities. Musical memory and imagination. 4. Musical ear and feeling of rhythm. 5. Musicality. Genetic determination and influences of social environment. 6. Degrees of musical development. Amusia. 7. Musical thinking. Conscious and subconscious process. 8. Musical creativity. Interpretation, improvisation, composition. 9. Structure of musically creative personality. 10. Process of musical creativity. Phases and psychological states. 11. Social functions and dysfunctions of music. Musical and acoustic smog. 12. Dimension of ritual effect of music. 13. Dimension of aesthetic and formative effect of music. 14. Dimension of therapeutic effect of music. Music and mental hygiene. Introduction to musicotherapy.

Learning outcomes
Conception of subject "Musicotherapy and Basis of Music Psychology I" introduce to problems of psychology of music, partly also to connected fields of music pedagogy and music sociology.Knowledge of basic terminology in music psychology and understanding psychological principles of musical perception, thinking, musical abilities, creativity and social functions and dysfunctions of music are aims of subject. Only on this basis it is possible to open problems of real musicotherapy in subject "Musicotherapy and basis of music psychology II".
Orientation in basic terms and principles of music psychology as precondition of musicotherapeutic problems.
