Course content
This subject deals with important components of animal feeding and nutrition mainly nutrition technologies, essential nutritive factors, meaning of nitrogen matters in animals nutrition and meaning of aminoacids and biological value of feeds. Carbohydrats, fibre, fat - their meaning in animal nutrition. Mineral nutrients, biological effective matters, macroelements. Preservation and modification of feeds and biotechnology. Production of feed mixtures and using of feeds. Calculation of feed rations - formation and calculation of feed norm, optimalization of feed rations. Feeding of single kinds and caregories of farm animals. Balance for livestock in farming business. Influence of nutrition and feeding for the economics production of animal product.

  • Preparation for exam - 59 hours per semester
  • Preparation for classes - 50 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 55 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint doctoral students with appropriate methods and evaluation procedures for major agricultural crops, compiling feed rations for individual categories of animals using natural biotechnological procedures for the preparation of preservatives, stimulant additives, etc. Doctoral students can specialize within the subject, according to the assignment of the doctoral thesis, on the evaluation of nutritional parameters, antinutritive substances in a fresh and preserved state. Furthermore, they can focus on the effect of individual nutrients on performance and reproduction parameters, both in ruminants and in monogastric animals. Furthermore, it is possible to focus on classical and ecological nutrition systems of individual animal species. Special sections are the addition of minerals, vitamins and stimulants to feed rations for individual species and categories of animals and for the conservation of forage.
The student can independently navigate in the given issue and is able to use the acquired knowledge in their scientific activities or other practice.
Prerequisites
The student is familiar with the issues within the scope of university studies and is willing to study independently.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student performance assessment

Standard knowledge of genetics, physiology and biochemistry of animals.
