Course content
|
Breeds of sheep and goats bred in the Czech Republic and abroad. Conservation of the gene pool of gene resources in sheep and goats. Development and use of biochemical methods in reproduction. Influences on milk and meat purpose. Management and profitability of breeding. Modern technology of sheep and goat breeding. Breeding welfare. Amendments to Acts No. 246/1992 Coll. and Act No. 154/2000 Coll. The breeding program for sheep and goat breeding. Evaluation of sheep and goat exterior. Assessing sheep and goat performance. Diseases of sheep and goats - symptoms, treatment, prevention.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course to gain an overview of current scientific and professional knowledge in sheep and goat breeding in the Czech Republic and the world and at the same time to expand the knowledge from the master´s degree.
Significant knowledge and skills applicable in practical sheep and goat breeding.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge of morphology, physiology, nutrition, genetics and sheep and goat breeding.
