Course content
Introduction to course, basic concept, types of living cycles, significance of parasites. Cattle parasites and parasitoses. Parasites and parasitosis of small farm ruminants. Pig parasitoses. Parasites and parasitoses of horses and other perissodactyls. Parasites and parasitoses of aquatic and gallinaceous poultry. Parasites and parasitoses of dogs and cats. Zoonosis. Practical courses. Diagnosis of parasites using: concentration methods, specific staining methods, larvoscopy, native microscopical preparation, compression methods, molecular methods.

Learning outcomes
The aim of course is present information about important parasitoses of farm and free living animals.
The student has a deep knowledge of the most common parasitic infections of farm animals and their impact on animal health, the quality of food and raw materials of animal origin and the impact on human health. Skills include biological sampling, detection and differential diagnosis of parasitic pathogens.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of biology, zoology, animal breeding.

Oral examination, Student performance assessment

Compulsory participation in the consultations, preparation of a seminar work.
