Course content
|
Welfare and hygiene of small animals. Importance, history, breeding, feeding, reproduction and most common diseases of rabbits, poultry, pigeons and chinchillas. The general idea of the subject is small animals hobby breeding. Identification of small animals, registration and administration of breeding. Organizations in the Czech Republic and Europe. Standards of breeds. Principles of small animals showing. Breeds of rabbits, poultry, pigeons and colored mutation of chinchillas.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to learn students about the principles of small animals hobby breeding, knowledge of breeds and their colors. The subject is focused on the issue of rabbits, decorative poultry, pigeons and chinchillas like pets.
Theoretical principles and practical skills for small animals caregivers.

Prerequisites
|
Standard knowledge of zootechnics, physiology, genetics and animal nutrition.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Combined exam
Course credit award: Active participation in practical excercises (max. 1 excused absence) 3 credit tests, 2nd, 3rd and 4th lesson (70 %) Exam: Writing test (70 %) + exam.
