Course content
Determination of nutrient digestibility, balance sheet experiments. Treatment, preservation and feeding of individual types of feed. Compilation of rations according to current feeding units. Compilation of compound feedingstuffs, their evaluation and relevance for each category of monogastric animals. Balance of raw materials and economic evaluation of the results of the use of mixtures.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of PDS students in the field of feed analysis and the importance of individual nutrients in the organism of monogastric animals.
Competence on the importance and functions of essential nutrients in the animal organism. Ability to characterize feeds, suitability of classification for farm monogastric animals. Competence for appropriate feed preparation in relation to individual species and categories of monogastric livestock. Ability to define nutrient and energy needs, including optimization of feed diets.
Prerequisites
Ability to define the nutritional value of feed, orientation in basic methods of feed analysis, including methods for sampling. Calculation of basic nutrients for the compilation of feed mixtures and diets.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Combined exam, Seminar work

The course is completed by a written and oral exam.
