Course content
Stable environment hygiene, animal welfare. Nutritional and water hygiene, animal health disorders of nutritional origin. Alimentary infections and intoxications. Hygiene of buildings and stable buildings. Environmental remediation, disinfection, disinsection and deratization. Health and illness, causes of illness. Zoonotic diseases, basic pathological processes. Defense mechanisms of the organism, natural and artificially acquired active and passive immunity. Health economics, the impact of diseases on animal welfare and performance. Legislation to protect animal health and health safety of food products. Basics of livestock breeding.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with animal production in relation to the changing conditions of the external environment, animal health, physiological needs and functions of livestock organisms.

Prerequisites
Completion of a university master's or engineering study of science resp. agricultural focus
