Course content
The course envelops the knowledge gained in the area of plant production and fodder cropping from the viewpoint of the evaluation of plant product as they serve as the source for animal feedstock production in their fresh, conserved or modified form. Except of organic nutrients the attention is paid also to the utilisation of mineral stuff, vitamines and aminoacids in animal nutrition. As raw material the natural feeds and the products of biochemical processing could be used. The course deals with the application of animal and plant physiology along with the utilisation of chemical, physical and biological methods of feed analysation. The attention is also paid to calculation and evaluation of feed rations designed for partial animal varieties and categories. This course provides the essential unnecessary for studing the other zootechnic disciplines.

Learning outcomes
The course envelops the knowledge gained in the area of plant production and fodder cropping from the viewpoint of the evaluation of plant product as they serve as the source for animal.
Ability to define the nutritional value of feed, orientation in basic methods of feed analysis, including methods for sampling. Calculation of energy values. Ability to assess the quality of feed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

The course is completed by a credit, which passes the continuous evaluation. The requirement to complete the course is a successful evaluation of tests.
