Course content
Lectures: 1. Introduction to the subject, contents and aim. 2. Historical evolution of management. 3. Strategic management. 4. Planning. 5. Organizing. 6. Human resources management. 7. Leading of employees and teams. 8. Theory of motivation. 9. Communication. 10. Decision making. 11. Control processes. 12. Organization culture and change. 13. New trends in management. 14. Management in a selected organization (lecture by a practitioner). Seminars: Creation of a team. Introducing seminar topics. The exercises are focused on presentation and discussion of the topics, tasks and examples given in the exercises, which relate to individual lectures. Students also solve case studies. Presentation of the results of the seminar paper.

Learning outcomes
The aim of subject is to provide basic theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of management focused on managerial activities (functions) performed by managers. Students acquire information about theoretical attitude, principles, methods and techniques of management. They can compare this information with practice in company.
Students understand the principles of management and their application in a company.
Prerequisites
The knowledge of these problems from intermediate school.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Test, Seminar work

Credit requirements: Presence and activity on seminars. The submission of team project. 1 test (75% success rate). Examination requirements: Written examination (75% success rate), then verbal examination.
