Course content
Lectures: 1 - Introduction to the subject, contents and aim. Management as a science, theory, art and profession. 2 - Management concepts and the historical evolution of management. 3 - Strategic management. 4 - Planning. 5 - Organizing and organization structure. 6 - Human resources management. 7 - Leading of employees and teams. 8 - Theory of motivation. 9 - Communication. 10 - Decision making. 11 - Control processes. 12 - Organization culture and change. 13 - New trends in management. Seminars: 1 - Assignment of project, creation of a team, vote of head of tem, preparation of plan. 2 - Principles of rhetoric. Presentations of students. Evaluation of the level of presentations. 3 - Application of analysis of external environment. STEP (PESTE) analysis. 4 - Application of Model for industry analysis (Porter's five forces). 5 - Application of analysis of internal environment. 6 - SWOT analysis and its application on chosen company. 7 - Evaluation of different organizational structure, planning processes, communication and control processes. 8 - Leading of employees. Test of recognition of own style of leading. Comparison of working preferences among of members of team. 9 - Team work. 10 - Decision making (case studies). 11 - Methods of creation approaches in management. Brainstorming. 12 - Time management. Test of using time. 13 - Closing presentation of projects.

Learning outcomes
The aim of subject is to provide basic theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of management focused on managerial activities (functions) performed by managers. Students acquire information about theoretical attitude, principles, methods and techniques of management. They can compare this information with practice in company.
Students understand the principles of management and their application in a company.
Prerequisites
The knowledge of these problems from intermediate school.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Test, Seminar work

Credit requirements: Presence and activity on seminars. The submission of team project. 1 test (75% success rate). Examination requirements: Written examination (75% success rate), then verbal examination.
