Course content
1. Introduction to the course content. Revision of selected grammatical terms. Repaso I, II. 2.-3. Fiestas. Grammar: phrase soler + infinitive.; subjunctive in present tense, the use of subjunktive. Communication: birthdays, celebrations, presents, congratulations. Vocabulary. Life and Institutions: Christmas and other holidays in the Spanish-speaking countries. 4.-5. Relaciones interpersonales. Grammar: conditional mood and its use. Selected verbs. Communication: qualities of character, interpersonal relationships. Vocabulary. Life and Institutions: Spanish magazines, Latin American novellas. 6.-7. Salud humana. Grammar: Imperative (summary) , reflexive pronouns (summary). Communication: parts of human body, diseases, cure, prevention. Vocabulary. Life and Institutions: salsa. 8.-9. Narración. Grammar: sequence of tenses, subjunctive, article (summary). Communication: literary forms, ways of expressing. Vocabulary. Life and Institutions: the conquest of Mexico. 10.-11. Descripción. Grammar: estar in imperfect + gerund, conditional mood, indirect speech. Communication: literary forms, the way of expressing. Vocabulary. Life and Institutions: Inhabitants of Latin America. 12.-13. Mis experiencias con el espaňol. Grammar: absolute superlative, formation of diminutives. Communication: the study of a foreign language, information about courses. Life and Institutions: Spanglish, Latin American population in the USA. 14. Repaso.

Learning outcomes
The main objective of the subject The Spanish Language 2 (OJA/JSP2) is to follow the current language skills of students, push them forward and branch out to a more comprehensive grammar, vocabulary and basic professional terminology in their subject field and enable them to be able to understand professional texts and communicate in the Spanish-speaking countries.
Students will improve their language skills and abilities by means of self-study: grammar, reading, listening, writing, conversation and broaden their professional vocabulary.
Prerequisites
Intermediate knowledge of Spanish, ability to develop language skills steadily on the level of course level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Written test (minimum of 50%). Final exam consists of: 1. simple presentation of any specialized topis close to the studied subject in Spanish in Powerpoint in the course of 10 minutes; 2. conversation on supplementary topics.
