Course content
1.-2. Hotel accommodation. Grammar: imperative; verb estar + adjective; al + inf. Comunication: reservation of accommodation, description of things and places. Vocabulary. Realia: countries of Latin America. 3.-4. Shopping trip. Grammar: object direct and indirect; indefinite and relative pronouns and adverbs; verb parecer. Comunication: markets, articles, shopping. Vocabulary. Realia: Mexico, Columbia. 5.-6. Nature. Grammar: gerundive; estar + gerundive; irregular verbs in presente. Comunication: protection of nature; animals and plants. Vocabulary. Realia: Peru, Argentina. 7. Revision I. 8.-9. Step of time. Grammar: imperfecte; verbs + inf. (estar a punto de, acabar de, volver a, dejar de); formation of adverbs. Comunication: infancy, adolescence and maturing; past and present time. Vocabulary. Realia: Empire of Incas. 10.-11. History and events. Grammar: practice of preterite and imperfecte; preposition a with an object indirect (accusative). Comunication: important historical events; lifes of famous personalities. Vocabulary. Realia: famous Latin-American authors. 12.-13. Cultural and literary life. Grammar: exercise of preterite and imperfecte; preposition para / por. Comunication: theatre, cinema, concert, literature. Vocabulary. Realia: culture and arts in Latin America. 14. Revision II.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course for advanced students is to teach basic grammar, vocabulary and aspects of Hispanic life and institutions (ranging from 1st to 5th lesson of the recommended textbook) and gradually develop students´ language skills and abilities with the emphasis on comprehension of simple foreign-language texts and on lively conversation. The language-education standard of the course is based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages): level A2. The focus is put on modern methods in language teaching and on taking students´ needs and requirements into account.
