Course content
Content of lectures: Content of practices: Russian alphabet and orthography. Both common and scientific vocabulary. Basic knowledge of Russian grammar system. Dictations and short essays. Practice of phonetics with focus on specific Russian sounds.Conversation topics: introduction, Russian names, greetings, phone-calls, days of the week, family, town and interests.Russian geography – arctic region, tundra, steps, oceans, rivers, Siberia, industry, large cities, folk traditions and holidays. All the materials are available on-line /MOODLE system/

Assessment/credit points/preparation: Credit points are awarded for: Oral presentation, reading of a text of 90 words. Regular attendance (3 absences allowed) Active work during lessons End-of-semester work: PPT presentation The course requires a minimum of one hour per week of homework.
