Content of practicals: 1. TOEIC Listening and Reading. The Listening section The Listening section assesses how well test takers understand spoken English. In this section, test takers listen to short passages in English and answer a variety of questions. It consists of four parts and 100 test questions, and lasts 45 minutes: " Part 1: Photographs " Part 2: Question-Response " Part 3: Conversations " Part 4: Short talks The Reading Comprehension The Reading Comprehension section measures how well test takers understand written English. In this section, test takers read materials and answer questions at their own pace. Passages use real-world workplace conversations. The test consists of three parts and 100 test questions, and it lasts 75 minutes: " Part 5: Incomplete Sentences " Part 6: Text Comprehension " Part 7: Reading Comprehension 2. Essay part This part of the exam tests the student's ability to argue logically in the written form in English. The students write the essay on a computer using the Microsoft Word editor and have the on-line version of the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary at their disposal. 3. Oral part In the oral part students show their ability, in English, to express their opinion, argue a certain position, and take part in a discussion. The exam comprises of two parts an independent monologue (3 minutes) and a discussion with an examiner. Learning outcomes
|
Testing language competencies and communication skills of students on level C1 according to CEFR with a focus on English for the workplace. The exam is intended for students who plan to engage in practice after graduation.
Students will demonstrate their ability to communicate in English in a work environment, the exam tests their knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, essay writing and speaking - debate.
