Course content
Characterisation, development, temporally trends, specific approach of intensive production and Outlook in freshwater aquaculture. Aquaculture commodities in production possibilities and trade.. Regional aquaculture commodities in Europe. Aquaculture products in human nutrition. Nutritional and biological value and data of consumption. Possibilities of processing and evaluation of freshwater and marine aquaculture products. Main processing technologies. Development of fish based products. Quality assessment. Legislative arrangements. Customs declaration in aquaculture commodities. EU standards in fisheries. .International treaties. Completeness in aquaculture. Operational programme. Common fisheries policy. FAO Fisheries departments.

Learning outcomes
The aim of subject is to give information about fish culture and technology, legislative acts and management principles in fish, molluscs, crustacean and algae production as commodities produced in water systems.
Advanced knowledge of aquaculture activities and application for aquaculture products in the commercial fishing sector.
