Course content
|
Lectures wil be focused to the folloving topics: biology main intensive farming of warmwater fish (European and African catfish, tilapia, sturgeons, perch and perch-pike, eel and marine fish). Flow-trough basins, cadges and recycling aquacultural systems (RAS).Fed nutrition and feeds. Oxygen consumption and total ammonium nitrogen exretion of fish. Critical consideration in RAS, quantity solid and soluble wastes in RAS, tank hydraulics and settlable solids removal, suspended solids removal processes and components, effects of solid wastes on biofiltration, biofiltration components and options, fine and dissolved solids removal and oxydation components. Denitrification in RAS. Aquaponic (hydroponic) subsystems. Degassig (carbon dioxide and nitrogen). Foam fractionator. Biosecurity and disease control, UV-irradiation and ozonization. Monitoring, alarming and emergency systems. Heating and speace conditions. Computer based system. Economic considerations. Technology of rearing of European and African catfish, tilapia, sturgeons, perch and perch-pike, eel and marine fish.

Learning outcomes

Aim: to give basic informations on temporary trends of intesive aquaculture of warmwater fish.
After completing of the course, students will have the knowledge needed to perform activity in intensive culture of warmwater fish.
