Course content
Topics: - History of technical normalization, metrology, and state testing - Organizations and institutions focusing on technical normalization, metrology, and state testing - Act No. 22/1997 Coll. on Technical Requirements for Products - National technical normalization, Czech Technical Standards (CTS) - European technical normalization, EN standard - International technical normalization, ISO standards - Efectiveness and obligatory effect of technical standards . Metrology

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Excursion
  • Preparation for classes - 15 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 26 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with history and function of technical normalization, metrology, state testing, and relevant legislation. The course includes an excursion to specialized sites focusing on metrology and state testing. The course works with knowlege students obtained in the course Technical documentation.
The student knows the system of international, European and national technical standardization in the field of creation, publication and use of technical standards. They can find basic information about national and harmonized Czech technical standards and can use these standards. They are familiar with the area of legal norms. He has basic knowledge of metrology and state testing. Student is well informed about product marketing and consumer protection.

- Attendance at seminars - orientation on the web pages of the ÚNMZ and ČAS - participation in excursions - elaboration of seminar work - Successful completion of test questions

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Test

Attendance optional. Sitting an exam is conditioned by passing a credit test.
