Phonology and morphology of "Mittelhochdeutsch" (about 1050 -1350) 7. Christianization of the German vocabulary 8. The language of chivalry (courtly) culture 9. Learning outcomes
|
The course aims to acquaint students with the historical dimension of the German language. It deals with the criteria of the periodization of the development of language and the basic tendencies in the field of phonology, flexion, word formation and semantics. Transformations of language in the course of its development will be monitored in the background and in the context of contemporary social changes.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written examination, Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills, Seminar work, Interim evaluation
Regular preparation, active presentation of the student at the seminar in the form of oral and written presentation and fulfillment of required tasks on a continuous basis, essay. Written exam. Participation in seminars and related events is obligatory. The course will be taught in German.
