Learning outcomes
Movie as an important modern medium is from its very beginning connected with literature. The widespread relations between the two medias reach from the early movies of expressionism till the Hollywood-adaptions of all kind of german literature. In critical discussion with text and picture the students will become medial competence which will be a important skill for teaching as well as for other abilities in our modern world.
- Students will get the ability to recognize literary structures in films. - The student applies basic terminology of literary and film analysis - The student analyses the differences between literary and cinematic structures - The student discusses aspects of film and literary criticism - The student identifies key periods in the history of film
Prerequisites
Basic knowledges of German Language (B1) and Culture.

Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills

Presentation of the selected topic at the seminar (film and text presentation) 80% participation in seminars The course is conducted in German
