Course content
The basic thematic areas: 1. Introduction to the seminar 2. Inventions and inventors / the passive voice: present, preterite 3. Device around us / the passive voice: perfect 4. Technical news / Passive with modal verb 5. Virtual reality of the internet - a real danger? / Passive indirect expressions 6. Manipulation in the media / Subordinate clauses concessive and of purpose 7. The world-famous brands / Phrases with haben/sein and with infinitive with zu 8. Health: expanding vocabulary (body parts, diseases) / Modal verbs expressing presumption and probability 9. Nutrition, the trend of "bio", chemistry in food / Nominal style 10. A healthy and an unhealthy way of life / Relative clauses 11. Health organisations: the Red cross, Doctors without borders / Relative clauses II 12. Environment: climate change / Participial attribute 13. The consumerist way of life, food waste / the transformation of the subordinate relative clauses to the participle of the attributes and vice versa 14. Final summary / Repetition of the taught grammar

Learning outcomes
The Language Exercises III seminar continues with the development of key competences in the areas of conversation, listening comprehension and applied grammar. Students will broaden existing vocabulary on selected themes in conversation and listening comprehension. In addition, more difficult grammatical phenomena are practiced in the seminar. The aim of the seminar is to acquire productive and receptive language skills.
Ability to communicate orally and in written form on level B2.

Language skills on level B2.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of student's language skills, Test, Interim evaluation

Active participation in the course, final test containing vocabulary and grammatical exercises. The participation in the course and attended activities is mandatory. The course will be taught in German.
