Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the concept of "discourse" in various disciplines (primarily sociology, history and linguistics) and highlight both the different approaches and common ground: discourse as language structuring and conceptualizing reality and at the same time a certain order of limiting and defining the ways and the even items of talking about the world. The seminar will focus on discursive analysis as one of the linguistic disciplines and acquaint students with the most important theories and processes in the context of the germanspeaking linguistics (Spitzmüller/Warnke, Busse, Niehr, Wengeler, Ziem). The focus of the course should be an indivudial activity of the students, therefore, the analysis of a particular text material.
