Course content
|
The aim of the Internship is to use and verify the acquired knowledge and skills in the practical conditions of a specific corporate or university environment. At the same time, students will test their own ability to solve a number of practical problems from the field of MAID study. applied informatics. To receive credit, the student must submit completed, signed and stamped mandatory documents, the samples of which the student can find on JCU MS Teams MAID. In the event that the student fails to find where to carry out the Internship, JCU is obliged to find the Internship for him. In such a case, the student may not refuse this Internship. The Internship requirements must be met.

Practical verification and improvement of knowledge and skills acquired during studies in teamwork. Types of MAID Internships Company Internships The student has a practice in a company. The students can find the company either him/herself or can ask the universities (USB, DIT) to help him/her to find the company. The Internship must be only either in Czechia or Germany. University Internships The student can make the Internship also in the university. In this case the student will solve some research or grant task. Team Project Internships Students can form a team (3-5 members) and agree with the Internship guarantor on the project to solve. The project must be completely finished and will be defended in front of committee. The project could be either from a company or the university. Requirements will have to be fulfilled
Application of theoretical knowledge in the practical environment of IT companies or the university.

Prerequisites

The internship will take place during the course of study, and the student must have achieved at least 20 credits before starting the internship. The internship must be in the field of study. Requirements and goals will be fulfilled.

Rules - The rules of MAID Internship are valid from 22nd September 2025 - The rules are obligatory for all MAID students, who have not started Internship till 22nd September 2025 - Exceptions are not allowed if not permitted by Vice-dean for study of the Faculty of Science of the USB 1 Internships before starting the study are not allowed The student must have 20 ECTS credits or more to start Internship. Recommended time is 3rd semester of study. No Internships before starting the study are not accepted. 2 No changes of study plan because of the Internship is not allowed The student should chose the date of the Internship not to influence his/her study plan. 3 Length of the Internship is from 480 hours (12 weeks full-time) up + 10 ECTS of electives Students must prove the minimum length of the Internship. However, it could be divided into shorter periods, and could be longer. 4 The Internship must be focused on the Artificial Intelligence and/or data science No other specializations will be accepted for the Internship (e.g. development) 5 The Internship should be done in one of the companies and organizations with the signed Agreement about the Internship The list of companies with signed Agreements are in USB MS Teams MAID. Students, however, can find another company but only in Czechia or Germany. The Agreement with the company and the student is not obligatory, but could be required by the company. 6 The Internship must be done only either in Czechia or Germany No other countries are accepted. 7 The Internship is unpaid It is OK, if the student and the company agreed on a paid practice, but it is a business between the student and the company 8 Supervisor In the obligatory forms must be a contact of the student's supervisor in the company (Name, email, phone no.) 9 Obligatory forms In in USB MS Teams MAID are the forms which are obligatory, must be filled, stamped and signed by a company representative. Based on this the Internship can be accepted. 10 Internship course UAI/506 Internship Every student must sign for the course UAI/506 Internship (20 credits) 11 The company can fire the student any time In that case UAI/506 Internship will not be credited. 12 Help to find the Internship The both universities through the guarantor of UAI 506 must help the student to find adequate practice if he/she cannot find it him/herself.
